This conference offers graduate students broadly interested in the study of China an opportunity to gather in the nation’s capital, present and receive feedback on their research from a scholarly audience, and engage in professional development and networking.

The conference is intended for PhD and advanced MA students who share an interest in Chinese studies from the following disciplines: Political Science, Economics, Sociology, International Relations or Business. Proposals from other social science disciplines will also be considered.

Students whose papers are accepted will be expected to participate in all conference activities and submit their final papers no later than 10 days prior to the beginning of the conference. Each presenter will have approximately 12 minutes to present his or her paper. The maximum length for a paper is 8000 words. There is no conference registration fee. Limited financial support is available towards transportation and accommodation costs of presenters.

Proposals should include:
(1) First, last name and field of study;
(2) Institutional email address;
(3) Institutional affiliation, including current status in graduate program;
(4) Name and email address of supervisor or reference;
(6) Title of proposed paper; and
(7) An abstract of no more than 200 words.
