Once again, the Registrar’s Office will be holding the Great Pumpkin Silent Auction in support of the United Way. Over the past 7 years, we have raised close to $6000 with the help of campus-wide support for this initiative!

If you would like to participate in the silent auction this year, or if you know a creative person who may want to get in on the fun, here are the details:

New for 2018 – submit either a pumpkin or a craft to the silent auction!
• Not big on Halloween, but enjoy making crafts? We’d welcome your crafty submissions to the silent auction this year!

Pumpkins, Halloween themed gift baskets or Crafts:
Pumpkin/craft drop off: Monday, October 29th (between 8:30 am to 1:00 pm)
Drop off location: Registrar’s Office, 300 Tory
Silent auction ends: Wednesday, Oct 31st at 1:00 pm
Winner’s pay/pick up: Wednesday, Oct 31st (1:00 pm – 4:00 pm)

Please contact Anne Young at anne.young@carleton.ca know if you wish to submit a pumpkin or a craft, all we need to know is:
• Your name and contact information
• Your department’s name
• Your pumpkin’s name
• Description of any incentives bundled with your pumpkin and/or craft

Here are a few useful pumpkin carving tips:
• Pumpkins can be painted, decorated, or carved
• We accept any type of pumpkin or gourde (artificial craft pumpkins accepted)
• Enhancements/bundles are encouraged (a pumpkin may include gift a certificate or other items)
• If you are carving a pumpkin, the fresher the better. (Tip: it helps to slow decay if you wash the insides with a mild bleach solution and coat the cut edges with petroleum jelly)
• I’ve attached a few photos from previous years so that you can see some of the wonderful creations!

Lastly, be sure to drop by the Registrar’s Office between October 29th thru 31st to see some of the amazing pumpkins and crafts, and to join in on the silent auction fun!

Thank you!
