MPAD 4000: Capstone Project is a year-long experiential learning course that allows MPAD students to practice and demonstrate the skills and tools learned in the Bachelor of Media Production and Design program. Students work with one of four community partners to produce multi-media projects and expand their digital and media storytelling skills. Students work together in groups of three to four to develop a digital media product that benefits the partner organization. Throughout the 2022/23 academic year, students brainstorm, propose, and execute projects that utilize their growing BMPD skillset. Although unique in nature and execution, this year's projects commonly address themes of place, wayfinding, and community. As the first in-person Capstone Project course, the projects and the exhibition focus on a connection to place and being present 'here.' This year's project showcases the skills of the BMPD 4th year cohort through social media campaigns, virtual and augmented reality, navigation and wayfinding apps, video and animations, illustrations, 360 tours, web design, and community-based research. The exhibition celebrates the exceptional work completed in the course and acknowledges the professional journey students will embark on 'after' graduation. The title, 'Here: After,' is chosen to recognize the students' hard work while 'here' and the potential they bring to their time 'after' completing the program.
