About this Event

Host Organization: Office of Quality Initiatives

Meetings are an integral part of any organization’s daily schedule, with some people spending over half of their time in meetings. Despite advancements in communication technology, there are still challenges associated with conducting online meetings. Participants can experience connectivity problems and communication delays. They can also face problems holding the discussion in a structured manner, and multiple people can start speaking at the same time. While meetings are essential to our work, ineffective meetings can feel like time misspent. This online training focuses on how to make online meetings engaging and effective.

At the end of the workshop, you will be able to:

- Recognize that everyone plays a role during an online meeting – the facilitator does not do
all the work
- Prepare effective agendas and other meeting preparation documents that will provide structure and clarity to your meeting
- Implement 7 Steps in making an online meeting more effective

Registration is available through Carleton Central. Under the Employee Services tab, click on Learning and Professional Development, then select Workshop Registration and followed by All Workshops. More information will be sent to you via email closer to the session date.
