Explore Geoheritage Day
Saturday, September 29, 2018, 10:00am to 3:00pm
Come join our volunteers from Carleton University's Department of Earth Sciences and the Ottawa-Gatineau Geoheritage Project at area parks, heritage sites and green spaces to learn how geological processes have shaped the landscape and provided resources for our use. From 10:00am to 3:00pm volunteers will be available at several locations across the NCR including Champlain Bridge Stromatolites, Hogs Back Park, Pinhey Sand Dunes, the Cardinal Creek Karst, and the Carleton University Earth Sciences Sample Preparation lab, where we can cut your rock and help you identify it. Check our website for more information about this year’s sites, as more may be added in the coming weeks. Visit http://www.earthsci.carleton.ca/outreach/explore-geoheritage-day
