This session will cover the how’s and why’s of adopting experiential learning teaching methods in your online classroom. Workshop facilitators will provide an overview of the experiential learning framework and its application in an online course using Carleton’s available educational technological tools. Participants will work together to brainstorm activities in cuLearn that promote learning-by-doing, critical reflection, and skills development. There will be collaborative opportunities throughout for small- and large-group Q&A.

By the end of the session, you will be able to:

– describe experiential learning principles and their application in online teaching and learning

– select appropriate educational technological tools that will help facilitate online experiential learning activities

– design and implement activities within an active and experiential learning framework for your own online classroom
