Tracey Maulfair is the Representative to Canada for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). Her career with UNHCR includes roles such as Deputy Representative in Lebanon, Senior Policy and Guidance Coordinator in Geneva, Senior Policy Advisor in New York, and Assistant Representative in Pakistan. Her global experience also spans across Namibia, Liberia, and Türkiye, where she has made substantial contributions to the organization’s mission. Prior to joining UNHCR, Ms. Maulfair practiced law in the United States and gained valuable experience with Human Rights Watch in Zimbabwe and the Center for Reproductive Rights in Kenya. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Pennsylvania State University and a Juris Doctor in International Human Rights Law from New York University.
