Language Policy and Planning Conference 2026

Wednesday, June 17 at 8:00 am to Friday, June 19, 2026 at 6:00 pm

For the second time, Carleton University will host the Multidisciplinary Approaches in Language Policy and Planning Conference on campus, from June 17th to June 19th. Organized by a team of FASS faculty from French, SLaLS and Anthropology in partnership with the Official Languages and Bilingualism Institute (OLBI/ILOB) at University of Ottawa, this international bilingual Conference will gather more than 180 participants from around the world. For 3 days, experts and practitioners will discuss issues in language policy and planning such as Language rights, Indigenous languages, Heritage and minority languages, Multilingualism in education, Language teaching and learning, Language discrimination, Language policy and identity or Language policy in the digital age. The complete program can be consulted here.
