The 2026 EMH Annual Forum is a milestone fifth edition, arriving as Canada faces energy and infrastructure decisions of unprecedented scale. Models show us what is optimal, but reality presents financing, labour, supply chain, and regulatory limits. The Forum bridges this gap by bringing analytical modellers together with the decision-makers who navigate these practical challenges every day.
Governments across Canada have made ambitious promises: net-zero targets, major infrastructure, sweeping transition plans. Turning promises into reality raises hard questions about cost, capacity, timelines and public buy-in.
The Forum brings modellers, social scientists, policymakers, utilities and industry leaders into the same room to work through those questions, one at a time. This year’s edition asks what it actually takes to get there, and whether we are asking the right questions.
