About the Speaker
Richard Nimijean is a scholar and educator in Canadian Studies at Carleton University, where he has taught since 1999. Trained in Political Science and Public Policy, his research examines Canadian politics and public policy, national identity, Canada’s global role, and the politics of national branding. His broader scholarly interests include science and technology policy, regional innovation systems, and scholarly communication. Richard Nimijean has held international academic appointments in the United States, Romania, and the Czech Republic and has presented research extensively across Canada, the United States, Europe, and Latin America. He has also received two Carleton University Professional Achievement Awards for teaching.
