You are warmly invited to the launch of Elgar Companion to Democracy and Development in Africa, taking place on Thursday, November 12, 2026, at Carleton University.
Presented by the Canadian International Council’s National Capital Branch Africa Study Group, in partnership with Carleton University’s Norman Paterson School of International Affairs and Institute of African Studies, this event will explore the important connections between democracy and development across sub-Saharan Africa.
Join us for an engaging discussion featuring scholars Samuel Ojo Oloruntoba and Teddy Y. Samy, who will share insights into the political systems adopted by African countries since independence and their implications for democratic governance and development. This is an excellent opportunity to deepen your understanding of African political and development issues and engage with scholars working in these fields.
