About this Event

Host Organization: EURUS

About the event: In 2016, Canada established targeted contacts with Russia in the context of its global re-engagement strategy. 2017 saw an expansion of official contacts between Canada and Russia, but challenges remain in the bilateral relationship, mostly due to the lack of progress under the Minsk Agreements. The seminar will try to provide a perspective to the merge question: What will 2018 bring us?

About the speaker: Mr. Stéphane Jobin is Minister-Counselor and Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of Canada in Moscow, where he arrived in 2016. Prior to his assignment, he has served in the foreign ministry in various capacities in Ottawa and at Canadian missions abroad. His most recent position in Ottawa was Senior Director (Program Division) and Deputy Head of the Stabilization and Reconstruction Task Force, an international security program. Previously he had served as Director of the North America Relations and Trans-boundary Affairs Division, Director of the Global Partnership Program Division, and Deputy-Director (G8 Affairs) in the Policy Planning Division.
