Buzz Bissinger, the award-winning journalist and best-selling author, will speak at the School of Journalism and Communication January 18.

A native of New York City, Buzz Bissinger is the author of the highly acclaimed nonfiction books: Friday Night Lights, A Prayer for the City, Three Nights in August, Shooting Stars, Father's Day, and his most recent work, The Mosquito Bowl: A Game of Life and Death in World War II. He has been a reporter for some of the most prestigious newspapers in the United States and has been a contributing editor at Vanity Fair magazine since 1996. In 2009 he became a sports columnist for The Daily Beast. He is a longtime contributor to The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and The Philadelphia Inquirer. His numerous and frequently provocative television appearances include Hardball with Chris Matthews, Piers Morgan Tonight, Tavis Smiley and CBS News. (https://buzzbissinger.com/bio/)

He is the author of the highly-acclaimed Friday Night Lights, which inspired a movie and television series, and most recently, The Mosquito Bowl: A Game of Life and Death in World War II.

He will speak about his career, the challenges of a sports-writer, and his latest book.

His talk will take place in the Resource Centre, 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.. on Wednesday, January 18.
