About this Event
Host Organization: The Norman Paterson School of International Affairs and the NPSIA Student Association
This event will highlight the experiences of Black communities and professionals in Canada and discuss how the speakers overcame systemic barriers and challenges during their professional, personal, and academic careers.
We hope that this event raises awareness on the experiences and discrimination that Black communities experience daily in all settings (including academic, professional, and social), while highlighting and celebrating the success of our panelists.
Our Black History Month panel will be moderated by Professor Adrian Harewood from the Department of Journalism and Communications at Carleton University.
The panelists are:
- Arielle Kayabaga, Member of Parliament for London West
- Samantha Moonsammy, Section Head, Lead Advisor for Diversity and Inclusion, Materiel Group, Department of National Defence
- Richard D. Sharpe, Director of the Black Equity Branch, Centre for People, Culture and Talent at the Treasury Board Secretariat of the Government of Ontario
- Faduno Ali, Anti-Racism, Diversity and Inclusion Advisor and Employment Coach
- Diana Kinimah, Accessibility Analyst at Public Services and Procurement Canada
- Olivier Jarda, Lawyer and public sector advisor

Doors will open at 10:30 am.
We look forward to seeing you there!
