About this Event

Host Organization: Carleton University - Faculty of Public Affairs

Bagels and Banter is a monthly opportunity to discuss shared research and teaching and learning topics with faculty members in a relaxed setting. Learn about new topics, teaching methods and potential research collaborations.

Bagels and Banter is open to all faculty members. Faculty members are encouraged to bring their graduate students.

January’s topic “Accessing Confidential Data for Research and Teaching” is presented by Jennifer Stewart (School of Public Policy and Administration) and Jane Fry (Research Support Services, MacOdrum Library).

We will discuss data resources that are available to researchers. Learn more about data portals ODESI, ICPSR and GESIS. Find resources that you can either use for your own research or that can be used to support your research. The discussion will be at an introductory level, please don’t let the acronyms scare you away! We want to encourage and support faculty and students that have not traditionally used these portals.
