About this Event

Host Organization: Azrieli School of Architecture and Urbanism

Architecture Lecture at the National Gallery of Canada auditorium this Monday November 25th at 6 pm. This lecture is part of the Azrieli School of Architecture and Urbanism's Forum Lecture Series.

Vladimir Djurovic is a landscape architect and founder of Vladimir Djurovic Landscape Architecture. Of Montenegrin descent and born in Lebanon, he received his Undergraduate Degree in Horticulture from Reading University in England and his Masters Degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of Georgia. After working in the U.S. for several years, he returned to Lebanon to establish his landscape architectural practice in 1995.

Vladimir's firm VLDA is located in the town of Broumana, Lebanon. Despite its small size, the firm has completed projects on every content and won numerous awards. Djurovic’s designs are marked by a tremendous sensibility to context and creative attention to present-day global challenges. As one example, his 17-acre Aga Khan Park sited between Toronto’s Aga Khan Museum and the Ismaili Centre, and designed in partnership with Moriyama & Teshima Planners, reconciles contemporary sensibilities with inspiration from ancient gardens and landscapes. It was awarded the Silver and Bronze prizes in the categories of “public” and “gardens” by the American Architecture Prize in 2016.

Presented in partnership with the Ontario Association of Landscape Architects
