Saverio Krätli is the editor of Nomadic Peoples. Trained first in Philosophy (University of Bologna) and Anthropology of Development (University of Sussex), he received his PhD in 2007 at the Institute of Development Studies (Sussex) with a dissertation on the cattle-breeding system amongst the Wodaabe in Niger. He has done research in Kenya, Uganda, Ethiopia, Sudan, Niger, Chad and Mongolia on a range of topics, including theory of pastoralism, policy analysis, service provision to mobile pastoral producers, pastoralist production & livelihood, and drylands variability as an asset.
