Do you have an interest in community-campus engagement for research, teaching, community development, learning or building your networks? We have the event for you!

Join us on March 27 for the 5th Annual Carleton U Community Connections event! This free networking event is taking place in the Discovery Centre (4th floor of MacOdrum Library) at Carleton University from 8:30am-1pm. Lunch and refreshments will be provided.

Putting the focus on community-campus engagement in teaching and research, this event will provide participants the opportunity to meet new people, network and contribute to themed workshops on a range of community engagement project topics (environment and sustainability, accessibility, health, etc.). It will explore the joys as well as the challenges of respectful community-campus engagement processes. There will also be awards presented for winners in our student video competition (based on videos of their community engagement activities, both curricular and co-curricular).

Carleton U Community Connections is about making connections between Carleton (students, faculty, academic units and professional staff) and community-based organizations in the non-profit, public and private sector. Through connections, we strengthen and grow the network that leads to partnership opportunities in Ottawa and beyond. These partnerships are important for advancing research, supporting innovation and community development, and creating valuable experiential learning opportunities for both undergraduate and graduate students.

Join us for a morning of networking to see how you can tap into the resources available and create a community partnership at Carleton! For more information, visit carleton.ca/communityengagement. To register, please fill out our registration form at carleton.ca/communityengagement/5th-annual-carleton-u-community-connections.

This event is being organized by the Carleton Committee on Community Engaged Pedagogy with support from the Office of the Provost, Teaching and Learning Services, OVPRI, the Discovery Centre, the CFICE research project, the Ottawa Eco-Talent Network and a variety of community partners.
