To understand modern China, it is critical to know that China is still transitioning from a traditional society to a modern society, and from a traditional state to a modern state, and that the modern society and the modern state continue to evolve. The 18th Congress of the Communist Party of China determined the primary goal of China before 2020: the modernization of the state governance and social governance systems. Therefore, the key areas for examining today’s China are modernization and social and state transitions. Examining these areas will help you discover the real China through an exploration of the background behind the internal mechanisms underlying public policy decision-making processes, from traditional to modern times, and at central and local levels. In fact, China is currently facing great challenges and to seize the opportunities and they require tremendous courage and determination.
