Dear Excellencies, dear colleagues,
The Swiss-Canadian Polar Research Symposium at Carleton University in Ottawa presents cutting-edge research by leading Swiss and Canadian scientists working in polar sciences (glaciology, climate change, etc.) and will allow for meetings between specialists to work towards a closer collaboration in the field of polar research.
Under the leadership of the Swiss Polar Institute (SPI) at the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, a multi-national Antarctic Circumpolar Expedition is set to launch in December 2016, whereby Laval University in Québec is leading a research project. The symposium will feature this outstanding Canadian-Swiss science cooperation.
The symposium is hosted by the Embassy of Switzerland and Carleton University. On the first day, it is open for researchers, government representatives, funding agencies, students, industry and the public at large interested in polar research. The second day is set to allow for discussions about future collaboration opportunities for researchers, government and funding agencies. The detailed program is attached as pdf-file. You are cordially invited and we would ask you to
