Developing a Measure of Violent Behaviour for the Lab and the Field with Dr. Kevin Nunes (Carleton)

A serious challenge for research on violence is the measurement of prospective violent behaviour. Criminal violence is thankfully relatively rare, but this makes it difficult to study and has hindered the progress of research on the causes of violence. My students, colleagues, and I have been working to develop a quick and safe analogue measure of current propensity for "real" violent behaviour that could be used in both lab and correctional/forensic settings. In this presentation, I will provide an overview of the project, our findings so far, and our next steps.
