This presentation will provide an overview of disability advocacy in the non-profit sector including a look at local, provincial and national models of disability advocacy, with particular focus on Citizen Advocacy. Brian Tardif will touch on varying types of advocacy with examples of each. A brief history of Citizen Advocacy Ottawa, examples of advocacy achievements at the individual and systemic levels and reflections of his 30 years of experience on the challenges and changes faced by non-profit organizations that
have an advocacy function as part of their mandate.
