In March 2014, Major-General Denis Thompson assumed command of the Multinational Force and Observers (MFO), an independent international organization responsible for supervising the implementation of the security provisions of the 1979 Egyptian-Israeli Treaty for Peace.

As Force Commander for the MFO, Major-General Thompson led a contingent of 1650 army, air, and naval troops from 13 countries to keep the peace and security in the Sinai Peninsula and the region. Major-General Thompson will speak to his personal experiences and provide current geo-political analysis following his three-year deployment to Egypt.
