Prof. Arvind Sharma, Birks Professor of Comparative Religion at McGill University, to speak on “Mahatma Gandhi’s Solution for Religious Conflict.”
Professor Sharma is a global figure in the academic study of religion. He hold a PhD in Sanskrit and Indian Studies from Harvard University and has authored or edited some fifty volumes on comparative religion, Hinduism, women and religion, and theories of religion. In the past decade he has organized two international conferences on Religion after 9/11 and is also currently working in the areas of freedom of religion and religion and human rights. His most recent book is Gandhi: A Spiritual Biography.
The free public lecture will be held Sunday, September 28 at 2:30 pm in room 2200 of the River Building, Carleton University. It will be followed by a reception. All are invited.
