How to weave Indigenous languages back into the fabric of everyday life? Spoken word artist Taqralik Partridge will share a creative presentation dealing with the struggle to reclaim Indigenous languages within her family.

Taqralik Partridge is a writer and spoken word performer originally from Kuujjuaq, Nunavut. An urban Inuk, she speaks to the soundscapes of the north and to city life in the south, weaving real-life stories with rhyme and Inuit throatsinging. She has toured with the Orchestre symphonique de Montreal, produced works under commission for the CBC, and has been featured on CBC Radio 1 and 2. Her short story “Igloolik”, published in Maisonneuve magazine, won first prize in the 2010 Quebec Writing Competition and has been published in Swedish and French.
