Please join us for a conversation featuring La chambre des cultures artist Annie Thibault, biologist Myron Smith and art historian Emily Falvey, moderated by exhibition curator Heather Anderson.

Emily Falvey is a Montreal-based independent curator and art critic. She was curator of contemporary art at the Ottawa Art Gallery from 2004 to 2008. In 2006 she received the Curatorial Writing Award (Contemporary Essay) from the Ontario Association of Art Galleries. She is currently pursuing a PhD in art history at the Université du Québec à Montréal.

Dr. Myron Smith is a Professor of Biology at Carleton University. He served as Chair of the Department of Biology from 2012-2016, Director of the Institute of Biochemistry from 2002-2007 and is a member of the Institute of Environmental Science. Dr. Smith teaches courses in general and molecular genetics, biotechnology, mycology and molecular ecology.

Annie Thibault lives and works in Gatineau, Qc., Canada. She has studied both science and art and completed a degree in Visual Art at l’Université du Québec en Outaouais. Recipient of numerous grants, awards, and prizes, including Claudia De Hueck Fellowship in Art and Science, Thibault has completed several permanent public art projects in addition to exhibitions and residencies in biological laboratories in Canada, Barcelona and in Finland.

Admission is free and everyone is welcome! CUAG is an accessible space, with barrier-free washrooms and elevator.
