The Council of Ontario Universities (COU) is launching the 4th annual IDeA Contest, a province wide competition in which undergraduate university students create innovations to overcome accessibility barriers. There are $3000 worth of prizes to win with a bonus $1500 for the best parasport and active living submission. Here is the website for more information from the administrators of the competition: http://2015idea.wordpress.com
Carleton undergraduate students have earned first place in each of the three years since the inception of this province wide program . Carleton students have consistently made up the majority of finalists, including capturing all three cash prizes in year two of the contest. The READ (Research, Education, Accessibility and Design) Initiative is hosting an information session at the Discovery Centre in the library to support students interested in learning more about the competition.
