About this Event

Host Organization: Sociology and Anthropology

Dennis Edney QC, Omar Khadr's Canadian lawyer, will talk
about Omar Khadr and Guantanamo, and the unconstitutional
setting in which Omar was ‘convicted' as a 'war criminal’.
This process was decried as deeply flawed and unfair by UN
Human Rights experts. This case raises serious concerns
about the rule of law, citizenship, and the contravention of
human rights embedded in the Geneva conventions and the
Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.
