Experiential learning is a high-impact practice that can be used in all disciplines. It fosters student engagement in the learning process through collaborative experiences and critical reflective practices. Experiential learning starts with the experience and continues with reflection, analysis and evaluation of the experience.

While experiential learning can be community based or work based, this workshop will focus on practical examples of experiential learning in the classroom context. Participants will become familiar with the stages of experiential learning cycle and will reflect on how these can be implemented in their courses. They will also explore the challenges of incorporating interactive experiential activities and ways to tackle pitfalls to enhance students’ learning potential.
